I decided to visit my local Goodwill in my area. I currently live in an area that does not have a lot of access to your normal craft stores (military life). I notice this was the case in a lot of the areas we moved to. Things I wanted are either too high priced or not enough options. So about 6 years ago I fell deeply in love with thrifting and
crafting. Which brings me to the Goodwill store, and the amazing items that end up there. I do have to voice my "Con" for this store chain before I get deeper in what I like. Simply put the items can be over priced for donated items from mostly everyday people like you and me. Sometimes you look through the isles and wonder why things are a hundred dollars and over. Stores like these were originally put in place to help the community and to be budget friendly. I personally think they should do better on pricing for the market that the mostly cater to. The question I always have is, where does the money go to anyway?
When shopping at the Goodwill you can find some affordable items and great crafting pieces if you are patient and have time to look through the rubbish. That brings me to another Pro, the stores that I have visited are really good about keeping things organized for a positive shopping experience. Lastly Goodwill can sometimes get clearance shipments from stores such as Target. These are brand new items that didn't sell in that store. They in most cases not damaged items. just items that didn't sell. This is a win win for me because as mention above I'm in an area that not close to your major stores. I have gotten new shoes, home decor body care products and children's items all new found in the Goodwill. go ahead give it a try...
Items purchased on my recent visit:
I spent a rounded out price of 23 dollars on this visit and I feel I got some really good finds and decor items for my home. Go ahead and cautiously give your Goodwill a try.
